Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow!

It's a Monday morning.  Last week was a week of attack our personal lives dealing with a diasppointment, my dear husband officiated at a funeral for his 82 year old coffee drinking shut-in friend, and we have a precious teenage daughter who is struggling not only as a christian among peers, but also a PK among her peers.  It was a challenging week to say the least.

My friend wrote in her blog recently about scripture that seems to wrap around you as a warm blanket. A scripture that comforts  me is Psalm 121:1-3

I will lift up my eyes to the hills
where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord,
the maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip-
he who watches over you will not slumber.

I am so glad that the Lord does not sleep!  He is aware of everything that will befall me today and knows me. What a blessed thought.

Until next time....

It's a beautiful day..

We have entered an interesting time in life.  When it used to be aunts, uncles, and grandparents (or parents) in ill health, it now seems to be our turn.  In the last month, my sister-in-law has had a heart attack and double bypass surgery and my brother is undergoing testing for neurological disease(s).  It is strange.  It is now our generation, but even more awakening is the fact that these siblings are both younger than my precious husband and me.

I know who holds tomorrow and today and forever.  I take great comfort in that.

Until next time, goodbye my friend.

It's a wonderful life...

I just had the most subtle reminder from my dear husband that not a lot has been happening on my blog.  THAT'S BECUASE A LOT HAS BEEN HAPPENING IN MY REAL LIFE and now I must tell you about it.

On March 14, late, late in the evening, 11:15 p.m. to be exact, God gave me one of the most precious gifts I have ever received.  I became Grandma to Jorja Kimber and was able to hold her for the first time!  My friend asked me if I knew what could make a 50+ year old lady go completely nuts and I replied, "No."  He said, "Let her become a GRANDMA!"  Truer words were never spoken.  It has rekindled the love I had for my own precious newborn daughters many years ago but in a very different way.  How I thank God for this wonderful little blessing in our life.

This Lord's Day is Easter. Resurrection Day.  It will be a joyous day in our life.  All of my grown children will be home for Easter worship and dinner, and possibly all of their in-laws.  What a good time that will be.

Well, I will try to blog more.  Life is good.  God is better.  I am truly enjoying this new role I have been placed in in life..that of loving a granddaughter....

Until later my friends.....my heart is very full!

Dawn, with my best friend!

Xanga

I have wanted to blog for quite a while.  This seems to be just the right time in my life!  The picture you see was taken at sunrise early one morning in November at Safety Harbor, Florida.  What you see behind is Tampa Bay!  What a neat memory!
